my mini, mmmmm where do i start? it's a B reg mini mayfair that i've been pottering about with for the past 2 years, it hasn't took 2 years to do it, i just do a bit now and again, first thing i did was strip it, lol, all the interior has gone, rooflining, carpets, rear/passenger seats have gone, thats the easy bit as ya know!
next was a full roll cage, 10" alloys, lowered, bucket seat (1 of) & i even bought a complete low mileage metro 4 the 1275 lump, which sounds a treat with just the 1 silencer! I've resprayed it lovely leary lime green and then i had a flash of inspiration and painted the revo's bright red, (nice and tasteful)
It was about 99% finished until i took it 4 a pre-mot and the nice man said "u're avein a larf if ya fink i'll pass this subframe" so the job i should have done first is now being done last.
It's taken me this long because i've done all the work myself, welding, engine, roll cage, respray etc. i wouldn't have it any other way as now i have the fond memories of welding sparks in my ears, raw knuckles and my favourite bit, glass splinters in my hands from when i threw a wobbler after cracking the windscreen whilst trying to fit it with hard rubber, lol.
Because i've done all the work myself, i know it's never going to be a concours winner, what i do know is when it's on the road i'm gonna give it a right good thrapesing wherever i go.
I'll try & find an up 2 date pic and if my PC know how allows me, i'll have a go at posting it.
PS. my avatar is of my old van that i did a few years ago
