These are irritating, not that i have to sit in the back but for my passengers, soooo i am going to invest in some automatic ones, but where exactly so i mount the reel part? and has anyone done this? if so can you like aid me in the right direction of where to get them from and how to fit?

I know I've seen a thread somewhere that shows a photo of the rear inertia reel seat-belt fitted in place.
But I can't remember if it was on here or elsewhere.
Anyway you might need one of these?: -

You need to ask someone who has a late mpi/sportspack type shell, i have seen covers for the rear bins on the sportspack minis for sale on ebay and they have a slot where the seat belt goes through so i guess they must bolt into the rear bins some how.

They do indeed, I have a photo of the bracket but it's in my other PC so I'll have to put it up tomorrow.

i have an automatic recoil in the back of mine, only one though, and it bolts in the normal seatbelt holes for the static seatbelt! the mechanism is a bit of a pain in the bum to actually fit, as its all up in the corner by the rear window and there is no room for spanners! easy if you take the rear wind screen out! i will get some pictures for you in the evening when i get back from work!
while on the subject (sorry to hijack) according to the MOT tester, (dont know if its because i have a harness for my drivers seat or not) but you either have to have 1 auto recoil/ inersa seatbelt in the back, or 2 static seatbelts!? anybody else heard of this?

ah, there a bit of a fiddle to fit, and if you get the same ones i have, make sure u get a fat washer or small tube section with them, as the bolts are quite long! and i was on autopilot at the time and forgot to put the tube on, or use the original seatbelt bolts, so i got a ding on the outside of my car now lol but yeah, no where near as much hastle as having to have a pannel fitted!

sorry! forgot to mention that there not the normal inersa seatbelts, if you look at the pic, there is a black cylinder sticking out of the bottom of it, into my back seat, this is a adjustable ratchet so that it releases and doesnt jam at the angle you mount them for the back seats! sorry, just re read my post and realised i hadnt mentiond this! sorry!
