Colour of the car looks great. A bit unusual but that's probably why I like it!

Good luck with the build up!

Yeah was trying to pick a non standard Mini Red. I think this red is a Nissan Red. Planning on putting some White Accents on the body, might even vinyl wrap the top white and white stripes alos thinking of maybe black. Will try both and see which looks best.

Just taking a break and got the front subframe back on - pictures to follow shortly

Been a busy weekend! Got the frame all installed and back into the body. It looks great, the blue frame on the Red body really works. Planning on adding some Carbon Fibre arches and see what they do the overall look :))

So starting to but all the bits back into the car. Got the Shifter cables installed:

Started next on the Axles. Stripped out the old CV joints from the k20. Nice greasy job but got them out pretty easy and reinstalled onto the ZCars Axles

Posted Image
Posted Image

Installed the ZCars custom indicator and light stalks onto the Steering column next.

Posted Image

Then realised that I only need the lights and not the wiper section (The joys of living in California - No wipers) so I pulled of that stalked. Helped clena up the interiro too only having 1 Stalk

Started working on the making some plates for the Front Hole in the Firewall. Still want access here so I can work on the wiring without removing the Dash. Pretty easy solution and can reuse the stock bolt holes.

Posted Image

Had to make a shelf for the wiring harness behind the dash. Gotta love wiringand teh way it always wants to tangle itself up.

Posted Image
Posted Image

Just did a little sound proofing today. Gotta get the carpet sorted next. Not going to go too wild in the interior. Want to keep it nice and tidy and show off the kit as much as possible.

More to come. This weekend my plan is to get the Axles installed, fuel system plumbed and hopefully the break system and wiring installed.

Brian

May I offer some advice with the wiring, make sure all the wires reach places like rear lights before fixing the fuseboard in place.

Cheers Andy, yeah I dry installed everything to make sure I have routed the wires the right way and they fit the back lights ok. Front lights I may have to do some imaginativerouting through the firewall to get it perfect.

Wiring is always fun but really the ZCars harness does the job. I have a lot of redundant clips that I am removing form the harness which helps. All I need are lights, dash and Ignitino/Starter and I am ready to rock and roll

Hello ,

Yeah the great thing is its registered as a 1926 Mini. The law over here in the states is pretty funny to be honest. In most states there is a SMOG check on your car, which checks your emissions from the car. This is all the car must pass in order to be road legal. However if your car is pre-1975 it get a free pass and doesn't require a smog check ever whereas if its younger than 1975 it has to pass smog every 2 yrs. So since my car is a 1962 its automatically passes, even if I put a huge gas guzzling polluting engine in it.

Thats why most hot rodders and classic cars over here stay around for so long cause there is really no safety safety checks they need to adhere to or emissions regulations.

It annoys me a little cause with my 2007 STi if I modify in any way the Exhaust or Intake I could get my car seized and pay a huge fine because of the SMOG laws. But if you have a 1965 Mustang with no catalytic converters polluting all over the place you don't get anything. Some states the SMOG law does not apply but here in California there are more car laws than we know what to do with..

Anyways I'm not complaining cause its means my Mini will be ready to tear up the streets over here in California soon.
