Hi Allan,

Well done on the lap record. I've been watching your videos with a lot of interest. I'm building a zcars racer soon & plan to enter the N.Ireland sprint & hillclimb championship, so it's great hearing about you getting good results. I'd be very interested to hear what other cars you're competing against & how your times compare. I honestly thought i'd stand little chance of being competitive against many of the cars in the Sports Libra class. Just goes to show how well designed & developed a zcars mini is with a good driver!

Adam.

The main cars I compete against are Radicals and other simalar cars normaly upto 1400cc
I have normaly beeen about 5 seconds slower than the Radicals in my class but with a bit of luck I will win more next year.
The record I got at the weekend had stood for a few years and there are always cars (at least one Radical) in the class.
I have had a few problems with setup but after fitting softer rear springs things started to come together,I allso had bad bump steer witch I fixed by fitting Rose joints instead of the track rod ends and fiting spacers to change the angle of the steering arms.

nice one allan
its a good result beating the radicals as they are serious cars with full aero etc
always nice to see a saloon car beating so called "proper" race cars as well
to be fair we are now getting more and more customer race cars beating the big boys
makes up for years of hard work building and developing the cars
you need to come race with us next year!!

I am running the stock moter at the moment but have it booked in for a full tune, should be around 30bhp more and loads more torque.
The guy who is doing my motor has built many many championship winning bike motors,he is the best but has retired and isnt looking for more work.
Luckily as he is an old friend of mine he is doing me a favour for beer tokens (He drinks quite a lot :gimme: )

I plan to just do much the same for next year but faster :P Scottish sprint and hills and a few English hill's
