In a month or so i will be advertising my 1998 cooper sportpack. Ive had two minis but the hole they are burning in my back pocket is getting larger and larger, so until i get a bit more money stashed away, then im afraid my miniing days are over.
The car is 1998 MPi Cooper sportspack in tahiti blue. The engine is standard except from a DTM exhaust, and so is the body work and interior.
Engine:
-1275cc
-135000 miles
-Runs well
-Has custom made engine steady as orignal snapped
-Thermostat is on the way out (new one will be supplied on sale)
Exterior:
-Good all round
-Has a small hole on left front arch, and the arch is not fully attatched due to this.
-Few bubbles of rust under front windscreen
-Two bubbles under rear screen
-Small patch of rust in rear corner of roof
-Had a hole patched in boot and in drivers floor for MOT
-Small crack in windscreen from stone.
-Will come with either 13x7 ultralights, or original sportspack wheels. (All good tread)
Interior:
-As standard with orignal seats, which are in good condition
-Replacement speakers in parcel shelf, and 6X9's under rear seat
-3x3 clock dash in walnut.
-Centre console can be included for extra price
Overall its a great little car, which is mechanically sound. Has been used as a daily driver and has never missed a beat, even through the 5inchs of snow we had, started first time everytime.
I was thinking of advertising it at £2500ono as this is what i payed for it about 7 months ago, in which i have spent over £700 on it.
Could i have some opinions on prices.
Cheers
Sam

Hi mate might be worth doing some close up pictures of the rust etc etc. Also list what work you have had done for the £700. How long is the mot and tax , how many owners what service history has it? IMO £2500 sounds about right.

yep i would agree with £2500
you might be lucky and get £2750 for it if you advertise it at £2995 ovno

135k is that for real...
If so for an MPi it's done well.... but the mileage is going to kill the value...

I have a mpi in at work on orginal engine and box with 132k on it and no gear issues when driving, no smoke, and it passed a proper cat test rather than the rover mini test which has higher values, and it drives well,

yeah 135K is all true.
I have never had any issues with it. It still starts first time, does not smoke and passed a regular cat test.

be prepared to get knocked down a little. if i was to buy it i would be looking to get it for about 2000. the mileage is very high and there a fair bit of rot infront of the front wheel arch and up the wing/a panel seam

yeah, i was expecting to get knocked down a bit, which is why i am advertising it it high.
The rot on the front wing isnt really too bad, ive had a couple quotes and they are both around £100, thats patching, spraying and re fitting the sportpack arch.
