13s on the front, 10s on the back!

That'd make motorway journeys a little better! Not by much!

Just wndering, if im going to change from 12's to 10's on an MPI which already has quite a long final drive. Sits at 70 on 3000 rpm i think.
Anyway how much will a smaller wheel raise this, anyone with an MPI have any experiance?

I don't care if the mini was designed for 10" wheels. It was also designed as a cheap shopping cart with drum brakes all round.

I agree on 10s the car will probably feel more nimble, but when I changed from 12x6 to 13x7 I noticed less roll, more grip round the bends and especially under braking. Also the looks of 13s do it for me, sat low with some wide arches and deep dish wheels - You can't get much better in my opinion. The only 10s I'd consider swapping my 13s for would be some force racing or MB racing split rims in 10x7.

Above is only my opinion so please nobody get offended if your into 10s.

According to Guessworks' calculator 3410rpm @ 70mph, as opposed to 3272rpm @ 70mph on 12's.

I would rather 13s anyday! Deep dish and wide! 10s look far too small for my liking! I think there is too much rubber showing on the sidewalls of 10s. in my opinion they look silly!

Having said that some 10s can look good on certain cars but i have seen very few i like!

10s are also too common for me. I like to look a little different. Have even considered 14s on my project!

Each to their own i suppose!

My brother agrees with you Mr 206boyracer, he thought my wheels looked like wheel barrow wheels when I first did the conversion! Each to their own indeed! :trooper:

Lol! yeh they do look a little like wheelbarrow wheels! lol! I can understand why people may want them for the smoother ride etc tho.

Thats the great thing about minis i suppose, so many different options!

Well, I have 10's on one, 12's on another ... so it was only right to go for 13's on the last.

Can't comment on handling, as they're only sat in the kitchen ... But they do look good! :trooper:

guess it all is a matter of opinion

my friend has 13s and they look awesome! but at slow speeds steering is very heavy
personally i prefer tens though, have some 10 x 6 revos waiting to go on

Im a big fan of fat 10s, iv got 10s, 12s and 13s on different minis, and to me the 13s just looks silly on a mini, ill be taking mine off at some point as they just look to big.

I quite like the fat 12s as they look prety well sited to minis.

But i mich prefer the wide 10s on any mini, they just look so right to me.

Handling wise the only time anyone is going to really notice a diffence is on the track, so for the majority of the people on here will be picking the wheels just for looks, people can argue all the like but i drive my minis hard on the road and tracks and you only notice a marginall difference on the track.

Agreed. I had the option of buying 13's, but i went for 12x6's and i'm happy with them.
