the scrappage schyme was a massivo failure for the environment aspect. they introduced it so more modern cars would be produced and less hard ont he environment, yet they didnt think about how like the crushing, movement of the cubed cars, shipping, re manafacture of the cars caused more polution than like 100,000 modern cars or something.

anyways, the government could have made more money even of they stripped the cars down and sold the parts then crushed the shells, but no the silly people pulling the reins didnt think of that :P

R.I.P little mini :D

Damn. Looked like a perfectly good set of doors there.

Also, anybody else notice how easily that thing folded in upon itself? I drive my mini fast, and a little bit of wee came out when i saw that.

Eeek.

dont think a crance will drop on of those on your car while youre in it to be honest, and a roll cage wouldnt help either.

it still pisses me off how they got away with the scrappage scheme so lightly. it doesnt make sense to me at all

True, I don't often drive through wrecking yards. My point was more about how easily the roof caved in. There was a recent case here where a load of timber shifted off the back of a truck as it went around a corner and landed on someones roof (yes, unlikely, but it happened). I wonder if they had been in a mini, what the result would've been. Even a rollover at highway speeds wouldn't be good. Anything that gives more protection for your head must be a good thing. Maybe I'm just more safety aware.
