this is seriously ******* to have something like that taken, i really hope you personally catch the people responsible.
i dont think it was just an "on the off chance" sort of job this is a bit more specialised.
if they broke into your house for the keys, then its pretty much a given that this is a "professional" job.
burglary is a total different kettle of fish and most car theives wont do it.

it was most like done to order unfortunately.

have the police said whether there has been a "spate" of them in your area?

the police did not seem that bothered, they did not say anything about others being stolen, but the bloke at a garage i use seems more aware of the amount of mini's being stolen identity changed then sold on

i take it you havent heard anything then , it will probably change identity like you said but a mini like that is going to be hard to miss. i dont understand why they have stolen such a one off mini rather then a bog standard looking one that will be easy to flog on. i really hope you find it mate :P so i can come round and have a proper look :). have the old bill been round yet. there so useless grrrrrr.

they have been, just issued a crime number. s.o.c.o have dusted the house they're not to optomistic
if it turns up in one piece your welcome to look at it. perhaps if it was not taxed they would of been interested, they are only happy when handing out fines to motorists

Sorry to hear about this matey :P

From my mate in the know in the Custom & Excise, alot of cars are being shipped to South Africa or Poland at the minute. Apparently the database systems in those countries make it very easy to change the identity of the cars. The good news hopefully is that they are stopping more and more containers going to those countries and the port authorities are also more aware due to having a systems link with the stolen car database. Several ports now have numberplate recognition aswell so hopefully they were too stupid to change the plates.

Hope you get it back soon and i can have a good look at the little beauty at shows.

I'll keep an eye out for you.

Anything that will identify the shell if it has been stripped?

Do you remember being followed home at any point as it looks like a stolen to order job to me?

the most noticeable is here's no petrol filler neck, it's been welded up and smoothed out,a few other changes have been done to the body. also deseamed rear bumper.

on saturday was followed for a while by a silver corsa with chavs inside ,police have been notified about this

i told my mate (minimanjay) off the other day when i had to pay him at silly o'clock and thought "i know i'll just put some money in the boot" that was locked and i tried the door and was very shocked to find it opened! im just glad there was a car behind it.
then txt him to tell him where to find his money i owed. and a good telling off too!
all it takes is a minute. and its gone. i have had plenty of opertunities to have cars away but i will never do anything like that. i respect peoples property. it is worse enough having the other thing happen to me so i know what it is like not having my pride and joy. totally soul distroying.

if i see it in tamworth about 10mile from birmingham i'll make sure you get it back.

the thing is the car was at the top of the drive near to the house ,it was locked up,crook locked and alarmed.
they broke into the house to get the keys which were not easily on show.this happened between 10am and 3pm
there's normally someone at home, the daily drive was there and also the van, which makes me think the house must
of been whatched.

thanks for help
