Wonder if anyone can help or just keep an eye out for any suspect parts that may be from my lovely Mini cooper or indeed the full car in disguise.

It went from our drive in Nelson around 2 to 2.30 am this morning, someone down the road saw it being pushed down the street, reckon it went down hill to a quiet spot then onto a car transporter/trailer. As we live around 3 mins from M65, could be anywhere now, this looks similar to other thefts on here, could be a spate of them so Mini owners beware. The theft screams well planned in advance and very professional, the driveway was half blocked with our BMW Mini so would have been very hard to move without damage - but there was no sign of it.

It's an S reg Solar Red 1999 Cooper sportspack, white roof/mirrors/bonnet stripes/ 4 spotlamps/Blackpool 2007 plaque on front (if not ripped off). Much loved Mini, best I've ever owned/saved up for, have all car's history - gutted and don't feel like ever owning another!

Really sorry to see another ones been stolen

I dont know if you've seen the thread about the minivan going missing from Uttoxeter, but I spoke to a policeman at the Uttoxeter show about it, who said he'd checked motorway cameras to see if it had gone down there. Could be worth hounding your local police to check cameras on the M65 (if there is any) to see if theres any clues.

Really hope you find it ;)

Very sorry to hear this and hope you get it back all in one piece. This caught my attention

someone down the road saw it being pushed down the street

In the middle of the night? And they just ... let it go?
When will the bini become stealable, I wonder? :D

Thanks for all your replies, I'll post some photos tonight, wondered with the way the Minivan went as well if there's going to be a spate of this up and down the country.

to be honest my Mini is (was) often pushed down the street! But not at 2am by a dark hooded figure, someone further down the road watched our friend's Mini being turned over and said nothing until they'd been around and asked folk.

Regarding cameras on the M65, scenes of crime mentioned they were monitoring main roads going out of our area, BUT when I mentioned this to the police they say it's only (poorly) monitored in the town centre, I'll be taking this further though. The police keep talking about 'youths' joyriding and where the Mini may be dumped, they can't seem to grasp that this it not that kind of theft!

Hope no-one else's goes.

Always hate to hear about this sort of thing, tmf should set up an active response unit to deal with those that decide that it is right to steal minis.

Hope you get your's back soon and in once piece....

active responce....im in it.. im forever looking for spares or repair minis to do up and sell. a have seen a few similar but nothing to give me any good leads, i got all our clubs in the midlands......a5 minis (my own club) cv1 minis, and central every time there is one that pops up that we might come across. as soon as one does i post it on the clubs Facebook sites where people normally see it within 24hrs.

i spotted one of my mates car that was put onto of a recovery truck when i was on the way back from work one satuarday. and i was like "what the hell! thats robs car." and tailed the truck that went straight into a unit that was closed as soon as the recovery truck was in there. as i did not have his number i phoned one of my other mates to tell him. and where his car was now. (he was shopping at the time in town) anyway. he came to me in a cop car. and said that is where i brought it from. and i explained to him i bet they had two sets of keys. and when the cops busted them. they had. and even retained the logbook in their name. which explained why rob never got his v5c through the post after countless times phoning the dvla for about 3 months. luckly he had a signed resept from the previous owners and had to dig out a bank statment that matched the amount. and another one of our mates as a witness when buying the car.

very sticky i know but rob did get it all sorted out and his car back. and the previous owners where arrested for theft and committing fraud plus the cops found out they re-advertised robs car on ebay 3 days before they stole it back.

all it takes is keeping your eyes peeled. there is still hope yet.

Thanks Andy,

What a nightmare that sounds, must have been a great feeling to have found the Mini!

Luckily the majority of Mini fans are honest people - who know what it's like to work long hours and eat rubbish food so they can afford to keep their pride and joy on the road, we all look out for each other. Have to mention on here a big thanks to 2 Mini friends that drove us around the not so fine parts of Pendle on a search mission last week!

Attached are some pics, if you spot anything that may be parts from my car, I'd recognise the bits. Also attached pic of where it was stolen from, very tight to get sportspack out without damage but they managed it!

dam shame mate, the problem is every part is saleable and a good shell is always going to be sought after, even more so as the years roll on and the cars become more valluable.

someone somewhere knows whats happened but people keep quiet about recieving knicked stuff if they are getting it cheap.

hope someone is caught for it
