Hey there,
Just wondering if anyone had any idea as to where I should begin looking to cure the following problem. Basically the alternator had died and I replaced it and that part is fine, however, when the engine idles it jumps up and down and almost stalls. What should I be looking at to rectify this prob.
Any help or advice is going to be much apprecited.
Thanks
Justin D.

Read these in this order, oldest first as the information gets more acurate as more is learned and myths are set aside.

Only one extra piece of advice. When changing the Oxygen sensor make sure you get the Bosch direct fit item and when changing the plugs make sure you get the NGK BPR6ES type.

Found out another problem related to erratic idle.
The relay supplying the heater of the Lambda sensor can fail, causing the sensor to read rich at idle as it runs cooler, causing the ecu to 'lean out' the fueling and resulting in lean missfire at idle. All other driving conditions are fine.
My SPI is now running tip top as it should be with no comlaints . A single Webber 40 is a little extreme never mind a pair of them :nugget:
