thats an interesting bit of damage...... how the hell did they do it?!!!

They went on to a road with quite a bit of ice still on it, obviously they could not handle the power and when I went up there it would appear they lost controll and bounced the rear end from side to side writting of at least 3 other cars. Shame the did not go head on to a brick wall or lamp post.

Maybe airbags should be filled with lead shot instead :)

haha they shd fill the air bag with uv dye so when it goes of u get a sudden spray so if it is stolen and they suspect its some1 they can use a uv light

I am really sorry about your loss:-( I know how I would feel if my rusty, battered old Mini was stolen like this:-( Replace the UV dye with cyanide, then we are talking....

Just a quick update:

Insurance: omg what a joke, with Hastings direct bought the car for £10500 last june so had it just 6 months before it got nicked. Can anyone guess how much they offered me????

£6580. Basically I told them to poke it as it trades at £7800 and there were only 2 for sale in my area with the same speck for £9500. Took them a further 2 weeks and now have offered £8875. When I asked if I could complain they said yes but it would delay the payment, which is all going to the hp company anyway, for a further 3 weeks.

Baddie: Better news here got his dna from the drivers airbag. He got arrested on the 12th jan on his first interview the arse went no comment, then told about the dna so he changed his story saying he was in a mini somewhere in bromley but as the passenger. Then told about the airbag on the drivers side so once again he changed his story saying the mini he was in was in an accident but his blood must have splashed accross to the drivers side (yer right). Anyway he was charged with burglary, aggrevated tda, no insurance and no driving licence and the best news so far was he was kept in custody for court this week. Fingers crossed the magistrates have a good day and send him down.

well that is good news once he lied twice for his story.... the police will just ignor them and they will know what has actualy happened!

As for insurance pay outs and them trying to rip you off... i had a similar story with my c-class i about 1 year ago i got a brand new mercedes c220 cdi.. payed in total £32500 for the car. and then within 3 month only having a massive 500 miles on the clock because it was always parked up, some one broke into our house nicked the keys and stole the car and smashed it up after a hefty police chace.. now because of the police chace i had 4 speeding tickets so they were trying to summonz me to court to remove my licence as they didnt belive it was stolen untill police report was sent to them and i never even got an appoligy for being thretend to go to court and prison and baylifs for the fines... and then to topit all off the insurance company said that they would pay out wait for it... £17200 for a 59 plate mercedes c220 brand new shape with 500 miles on the clock top of the range they reckon thats how much they were selling for... i was going mental and they said at 1st ohh we cant be sure yor millage is correct.. they tried everything soo i showed them the service history.. they didnt like that but they pushed it to £18000... so finaly i had enough and said im taking them to court cause this was stupid... thank god i got a judge who knew about cars and admirals rep you could see he was just trying to read from a book what they usualy say to worm there way out of it and they wanted me to pay there fee's but good old judge palmer.... went my way... i got my pay out of £29995 + solicitors fee's + compensation, then after all this admiral decided they were never going to insure me again ... not bothered but they were telling all the other insurers that i was un insurable... soo i said to them i will take them to court again and drag there name through the paper about all this.. they soon shut up.. there all bullies and idiots..

as for the burkes who stole my car... they tried everything even said they borrowed the car with my consent... considering i live in oxford and they were from east london... and they said i told them to borrow my car when ever they like to drive about in.. idiots.. but they have been charged with twoc, burgalary, and i cant remember the name for having guns on them!!

But after all this essay about cars being stolen... as of 4 nights ago.. my mini turbo has been stolen!!! :D M1NY G If you see this plate on an era turbo mini any were in the uk plz tell me or the police dont worry about rining the police if you see it cause its not me driving it sooo its stolen and they know about it!!

Thank you!!!

wow sounds like a result! after a long read on this thread.
so whats happened the the smashed up mini? im sure that is repairable? a few grand of damage but still cheaper than getting another one surely?

my £10,000 worth of show car mini burnt on the M42.... did not clam... due to insuring a subaru and my age.
but i do plan on rebuilding it as it was. yerrrr... another £10k but its my mini and i dont care how much it costs at the end of the day. i want it back as it was.

forgot about that signature.... them, are the two cars im on about.

Where is he going to be sentanced? In the Magistrate's or Crown Court. I ask as, unless the law has changed since I sat as a magistrate, the magistrate can give a max of 6 months custodial sentance. If a magistrate wants to give a stiffer sentance, it was referred to the Crown court for sentance.
