Is there any one that owns a Cooper SPI that can check the injector part number for me. I'm looking to see if it is a different injector to the non Cooper SPI.
With the air filter off, remove the single screw on the yellow cap/plug and pull the cap/plug upwards. The part number is on the top of the injector and should be similar to 0280 150 682, if not the same.
The screw is a torx T20, but an imperial allen key 1/8 inch will do just fine.
Hope some one can help.

Many thanks, looks like the Cooper injector is the same one so will have to source a bigger one from another car for the turbo project.

My guess would be no, you can only really tune a spi up to about 80bhp, and a turbo 998 will surely have more power than that!Would the standard one be suitable on a 998 turbo? :fear:

I think he means that you can only tune an SPi upto about 80 (I've heard 90) bhp before you need to remap it.

87BHP is what the stage three Cooper garages conversion was rated at. After doing some calculations on the 511cc/min injector it apears that Cooper garages were pushing the 'acceptable' duty cycle to 84% (80% being the norm) so there is a little room to push it further, but then you are venturing into the teratory of melting pistons. Also the throttle is only 41mm and relating to the HIF44 which is 44mm throttle, power is limitted to roughly 100bhp due to lack of airflow.
