Also, you could try your local newspaper. Our local paper is always looking for stories (they cover stolen cars/caravans etc. stories) so I’m sure your local paper would be happy to help. However, they are likely to want a picture of your children with sad faces which understandably you may not be comfortable with. However, I expect that they would still run the story without pictures of your children, but it probably would not be as high profile/prominent.

you are probably right, but on christmas eve!!! i hope they die slow and painfull death

i know there scum, but the cancer and aids comment is abit much

Having been a victim on 3 seperate occasions of such lowlife, one of which involved being stuck in London with no car, very little money a Wife and a small child on Easter bank holiday weekend whilst needing to get to Newcastle was not a great start to my holidays, I would have been happy to feed the lowlife into a meat mincer slowly and I still hope daily that the individuals who stole my car develop a terminal disease of some kind. The world would be a much better place without them.
OP gutted for you I know exactly how you feel.

How about looking up any internet accessible CCTV or webcams in the area - I seem to remember someone else on here managed to go back through pictures of something local and saw his car on the back of a truck. Dunno if it actually helped get the car back.

Wow some people are low. Most cars are stolen by people looking to make a quick pound. Unless it gets shipped off to some foreign country there is a big chance it can be found. We had a car nicked off our garage forcourt the other Month. We are in essex. It was found 2 days later in Scotland. The people who nicked it just waked fake plates on it and tryed to sell it to a landrover main dealer ( it was a freelander) really hope you get the car back. Keep scanning sites such as piston heads classifieds and eBay good luck!!

I cant really remember which comment you want me to remove. and to whom any of my comments can be offensive and for what reason?
today my older son cried his eyes out for his missing lion cub plush toy that my husband brought for him from south africa 4 years ago. and my son had that toy with him for all this time wher ever he went. he is now 5 and a half.
I cried with him us well- I guess car can be replaced , since it means so much to him and he asked my husband /his father to go and find the bad people who stole it and bring it back , he doesnt want any other than that one that his daddy brought for him from africa.
so please remind me what comment was so offensive again , and what punishment would be Ok for those evil thieving things that robbed my family of the car and my sons toy?..... there were two toy story child booster seats, some more toys, sticker "child on board"...etc.

probably the one about aids and cancer? sorry to hear about your loss and at such a difficult time. my brother got mugged on christmas eve 3 years ago and it really put a scar on that christmas. saying you hope people die of cancer and aids may be a punishment you feel is justified for them but it can bring up a lot of bad memories/touch a lot of raw nerves.

And for that reason (and the several complaints about the comment) I've removed it.

I do hope you find your car, but I've taken that bit out of your comment. Not going to issue any warnings or anything as it was clearly done during a time of high stress (and even us mods do have a little compassion).

Good idea about internet CCTV searching, not sure if that'd work, but definitely worth a go.

thnaks everyone, thank you BFG! for not giving me a warning. I am bit calmer today, things should start moving today- insurance, police...etc.
to be honest, even my husband found the comment offensive, his father got a cancer scare and still not in clear, got some major exams today, that completely slipped my mind. apologies to everyone.

It's just a car. I really hope you weren't serious that the car's theft ruined your Christmas.

I do hope it is recovered, but at the end of the day a lot worse things happen. I trust you were insured.

I hope you have a better new year!

A while back a drift car was stolen from a show they drove it straight out. It was team japspeed. They made a Facebook page n posted it on everyone's wall and asked everyone to do the same. The car was seen several times and the owner went lookin for it where it was last seen and found it down a alley way of garages and they had started stripping it down. My suggestion is get Facebook page going n ask everyone to join it and pass it on. Offer a reward for n e help that finds the car! U can't run or hide on the Internet. Make an eBay listing with ur mini as title then in the write up state it been stolen. Do the same on pistonheads.
