[font=Comic Sans Ms]Hi all,
I'm hoping some one can help us??? we brouht a mini end of last year to tidy up, for the Mrs to use. While she was looking for things she could pretty it up with, she discovered it was a Piccadilly, or was it just a mayfair to be made to look like one?
When checking the log book for date of registration our mini was registered (Jan 86)before Piccadillys were released in June 1986. ''Lilly'' as she calls our mini has the Cashmere Gold paint the 3 coloured seats and coffee furniture as the Piccadilly is ment to have.
Hope someone may shed some light on this subject??
THANKS

I doubt anyone would take a mayfair and try to make it look like a Picadilly but maybe they did!
I had a Picadilly but didnt realise it was an LE until it had been resprayed! They arent a particularly sought after LE but I still regret not restoring it back to standar spec.

The date of registration isn't always entirely accurate, have a look on the boot lock (if its the original one), they stamp the boot lock with the date it was manufactured. Alternatively, contact BMH and they'll be able to tell you the date of manufacture and registration.

I had a piccadilly a few years ago. I've got a document for when it came out of Longbridge and that's dated 16/05/86 and says "Launch Stock" The V5 had the date of registration as 23/08/86.

Yeah, Im getting pulled towards liking the colour, wasnt too keen on it before but i think it would look nice with black alloys or pepper pots... What look are you going for? Standard, custom?

Could be a Rover production prototype, what's the last three letters of the reg? (I won't ask you to disclose it all...) Rover pre-registered cars are all registered with the same code from the factories own licensing office.
