i'm new to this forum and noticed a big trend in mini theft.
i live on the outskirts of Windermere in Cumbria
Just had my project mini 1275gt stolen from my drive way over the weekend plus loads of mini parts.
it was dark blue with white roof and 12" minilights.
i live in quite a rurual area with low crime rate.it was parked up a narrow drive out of view and hard to move.
is there much hope of finding these scum bags or is it just lost in parts????
my local police were extremely unhelpfull, stating maybe the council moved it !!!
they also seemed to think it was no big deal and haven't even been to see me about it.
anyone any look with getting minis back that have been stolen?

sorry to hear about your car. The Police generally don't give a toss. Try phoning the council just in case, but sorry I don't think you'll see it again

Sorry to hear this mate - get some pics up, you never know, someone may spot something. When you say it was "hard to move" - what exactly do you mean? Was the car drivable, or have they had to use a trailer??

It's examples like this that get me worried - it's obviously a targetted theft for a specific reason, rather than opportunistic stealing (joyriding, etc).

Car was a non runner with flat tyres and siezed brakes.
it would have needed a few people to move it plus trailer, also driveway is awkward to reverse trailer or transporter into!

Put your photos onto Photobucket or similar then paste the "direct link"using the image button in the forum's text editor - the one that looks like a little tree.

Kick up enough fuss & you might get lucky, it has happened. Stick an advert on ebay, and spread the word however you can. Maybe it was taken by the scrap metal hunting toerags, who cruise rural areas looking for gates & farm machinery to purloin.

I'll bet scrap metal hunters too. Really get me nervous though when minis that are difficult to steal for whatever reason (non-runners or high security, etc) get nicked - makes me wonder just how secure mine are!!

Will keep my eye out for any being broken in the North. As sorry as I am to say this, it most likely wont turn up again - speaking as someone that had a fairly distinctive mini stolen a few years back. We're you insured??

checked all local scrap yards up to 30 miles with no luck.
feel it was planned theft for parts, never to be seen again.

if its any consolation i doubt that someone would steel a mini for scrap, as they dont hold that much scrap value compared to a less desirable heavier car, its much more likely to be sold for parts so just keep an eye on eBay for any parts you recognise.

theres to much of this going on recently i hope you get it back, good luck.

Really sorry, & sad to hear that O_O .
See if you can get any pics up!! I'm very active at the moment sourcing mini parts so I'll keep my eye out in the process, as Se7enS1ns, & Lapider noted, is there anything specific or unique in parts we can look out for?
