Also finally got round to fitting the towing eyes that I bought at Stanford Hall. Oh and also lowered the front end.

Wonder whether it is the Green Stuff pads? Considering putting the old Mintex pads back in as they were far from worn out?

I had some "green Stuff" pads in mine and had one of the biggest moments of my life! I have always used mintex m1144 pads but the green stuff came with the alloy 4 pot set up I bought so I gave them a go. Long story short the pad material degraded and had no brakes while out testing. Pure luck that the car wasn't damaged but I will never use them again and wouldn't recommend them at all. MIntex all the way!!

Thanks minis35. Yes was running Mintex back when the car was last on the road in the early 90's!! Thinks 171's. Bit like you bought the green stuff ones, when replacing the calipers (using minispares Cooper S copies), Braking a bit better since have some new rubber on the front, but don't seem to have the "feel" that I remember or maybe just spent too many years driving modern machinery??

Been working abroad and then away on holiday for the last 5 weeks, so Baldric not received much attention of late. A growing list of jobs to do, to which I think changing the pads has just been added!! :shy:
