Great find mike! That is going to save alot of head scratching down the road :) Just to update, the cars going to be sandblasted very soon and i will go from there on what happens next. It may fall to pieces, or it may be salvagable haha who knows. I want to get a quote to have my local mini centre weld up the shell as i'd prefer to just have a rust free shell rather than spending months trying to weld it myself and not knowing if it's safe or not.

Well, a year later and in all honesty not much has changed. The shell was pretty bad and i still havn't had the time or patience to practice welding (our welder is pants and i dont want to spend alot of money on something id rarely use).... Soooo...

I havn't given up!! I went and did what any sensible mini-addict would do and bought another ruddy mini. This time one off my mate who has done 99% of the welding. I also bought a 2piece fibreglass front end off him and got some pretty nice wheels in the deal aswell :) As soon as it gets lighter after work and warmer im planning to get the subframe bought and the mounts welded on (by a company i assume) i will bring the mini home so i can work on it more regularly :)
