Hi guys, I started a thread a few years ago, but I couldn't post more pictures and it was so long ago I thought I should start a new one
PLEASE CHECK original thread here http://www.theminifo...63-mk1-rebuild/

I bought the car for a grand in 2011 and said it would be done for feb 2013 (my 17th) but as many of you know, nothing ever goes to plan!
HERE ARE THE MORE CURRENT PHOTO'S --- http://www.flickr.co.../109682932@N04/     please note they are not in order :)

the car is now painted, and I can not thank Finishing Touch Bodyshop enough, the paint work is spot on and the company director seems genuinely interested in the progress of the car
The brakes are all in and set up, superfins all round, I must thank Ian studley cars for throwing a set of minilites 5x10 my way for free,
as a 17 year old the car has been built on a super tight budget and getting things as cheap as possible is vital, I would also like to thank Mr. Steve polley at polley motorsport for doing me an excellent deal on the yoko tyres.
the car is smoked grey, which I'm sure any of you colour experts are aware is impossible to photograph and the Photo's do not do it justice,
the car is starting to really take shape, the handbrake is in, loom is almost back together and the engine is all ready to drop in, the fitment and camber is now all sorted and the arches are being painted, the car will be fairly standard, slightly wider and lower, but all spec parts will be kept, I'm so excited to see vinny (don't judge me) starting to take shape however my wallet does not share my excitement
If things go well I aim to get the car out for the London to Brighton mini run,
happy driving guys

Little update on the resto.
I got the car started this week, it was firing on three but I had just thrown in random spark plugs to get it going and it's all sorted now!
spent the weekend sorting out the throttle linkage and tidying up my radiator, it's amazing what a bit of elbow grease can do!
being a student however means that funding the car is hard work, and due to my job, I won't be paid until the end of august therefore slowing things down a tad!
Considering the engine hasn't been driven for 30 odd years and hasn't fired for three I was very impressed with how it was running, it's set up on an inch and half su, with a lovely sounding rc40 system. I have a few more pictures of the car up on my flickr at http://www.flickr.co.../109682932@N04/

so feel free to have a browse!
cheers!
