Yeah the skyline was immaculate, one of a handful of factory manual, sunroof, full option (except ABS) 2.5 non turbos in the country that hadnt be butchered by the drift crowd... Nearly 4 grand in wheels and brakes alone (wheels were genuine Nismo items) as well as little interior dress parts, had big resto/mild mod plans for that car, that photo was taken the night before it was stolen, from outside my bedroom window, I'd just spent 6 hours washing, polishing, waxing and detailing...

Still, I've always wanted a tidy clubby and despite it's issues Im just as smitten with this as I was with the Skyline :D

I've been staunch about it and said this IS the radiator that's going in the car, no questions asked, and if he can't get it to fit, I'll take it to a sheetmetal specialist who can make a surround to suit. Scott Fabtech is right next door to work ;) hopefully it won't be an overly difficult job for them though.

You could try Glenn Lawrence who is in the owners club, he has his own engineering shop down on Fox Street, it's called Eclipse Engineering. If Clint can't get it to fit.

Couple of days late but better than never, finally off to the doctors :D

Guys are confident it won't be a major headache, getting compression/leakdown tests done and a service while it's there.

Paid the full shipping cost for my wheels today so I just need to sit back and wait for the container to arrive! Whats the best size tyre to run a on a 12x6 and does anyone make a semi slick in 12"?

Well that's 4 day's it's been gone, gotta say it's been kinda dumb not having it at home :(

Eased the pain with some retail therapy today, bought a new headunit as mine is on its way out.

Does pretty much everything my old Sony did in the Skyline and was a whole $5 cheaper :P just need new speakers to replace the hideous Carrozeria ones I have at the moment, looking at 6x9's for the parcel shelf, whatever size components I can fit in a speaker board under the rear seats for mid and probably just tweeters up front, I'm not into big installs. Been looking at dash kits, really wanting one as my factory gauge cluster and all the trim on my dash is looking worse for wear, I just can't decide between walnut, charcoal burr or carbon fibre :P. I've always said the car will never be something concourse worthy but I still want everything tidy with nothing out of place, not exactly a racer, not exactly bog standard either... Interior can really make or break a car, especially a classic I reckon...

Everythings hinging on the state of my engine though. I can't spend until I know what's going on for sure.

Starting to think the alloy radiator may be a throwaway job :( Talked to the garage on Thursday, no progress as of yet but from what they can see things are extremely tight with regards to the radiator, it has the wrong type of cap and apparently the wrong pressure, 1.1 bar, which I thought was an off-the-shelf factory listed pressure for classic minis (around 15lbs), but oh well...

I'm hoping that's not the case as it'll be $200 gone and I don't want some generic 4-core locally sourced one, has anybody used the two core copper ones that Minispares sell? That's my next option.

I'm officially legal to drive again as of today :P it's been an anxious two weeks of waiting and it's only getting worse as I'd rather just know either way if my engines had it or if I can carry on... If it's the former, I'm not sure I'll be able to keep going with it :(

Doh, bit late now!

I've pulled it out, and there's a standard copper/brass two core radiator coming from Silverdale Radiators in Auckland on Monday, it's been sitting down at the shop for over a month without a bolt being turned, so instead of waiting much longer for any mod work I'll just get the new rad in and either sell the alloy jobby or keep it for a rainy day.

I did, however, get an under-seat speaker board made up for my new 6x9s by Miniworks in Wellington, and very nice it is too in black flock :)

Only another month or two until my wheels arrive from Japan, too :D

New Adrad radiator, getting dropped into the garage tomorrow so HOPEFULLY I'll have a car before end of the month! Also got confirmation from the shipping company the parts container is full and they're looking to get it on the boat ASAP so my wheels aren't far away either :D
