It's getting ridiculous. I was reading earlier about a gang of Eastern Europeans who are to blame for a huge amount of vehicle thefts. The thing is, they have to get these cars or parts out of the country - to Africa and Cyprus. If the authorities can crack how they check shipping containers for stolen cars and parts, they would be getting somewhere. Any UK registered vehicle found in a container must be investigated thoroughly by double-checking with the police stolen vehicle database - even if the paperwork appears to be in order. It just seems too easy for these criminals to hide a car behind some mattresses and send it on its way.

Exactly. It seems they spend millions hunting down and prosecuting these criminal gangs instead of actually putting the effort and investment into preventing the core theft aim - selling the cars/engines abroad.

Very sad - i live in this area and i've clocked this min on occasions. Probably just as well my mini is laid up based on the number going missing these days....

Doubtful this will have been exported by a gang. The serious organised gangs tend to seek out keys and high value stuff - especially cars which are suitable for use poor quality road surfaces i.e. not Minis...

Late last night I had to go an move my mini and chase of 3 blokes because they were looking around my mini with torches! It was only about 9ish. I couldn't beleive how brave they were being especially as it was parked on my neighbours drive two doors up and they have a raised drive directly in front of there window and there blinds were open! I'm also in Kent....

These morons just have no thought for anyone - they will know how much time, effort and money has been put into the classics they steal - I bet they wouldnt be so 'clever' if they were outed at something like L2B as the thieving rat bags that they are (only because they would probably get a good and deserved shoeing!!)
