Hi,

4 of these wheels were stolen today from my front garden in Bristol.  Usually hidden from view by the Mini and the wall but Mini was in the garage for the last few days while I sorted out the clutch.

They weren't in the best condition (few scuffs and scrapes) and 3 of the tires were OK but I've had them for 15+ years and were on my first mini :-(

Cheers

Neil

There are a lot of stuff going missing atm. But truth be told you will never see these again.... :/ because even if you do find them you have to prove they are yours :( it's a pain! And people really annoy me! You spend all your hard earned money to get what you want and then people just walk up and take it for free!!!!!!

Odds are it's the dodgy scrappy vans doing the rounds. Round here they are beggars for nicking anything not nailed down.

Yeah that's what it more than likely is... I'm pretty sure law says they have to knock and ask for permission to take the scrap but I forever see people stopping quickly and taking the stuff :/

Pretty sure it's a dodgy scrap van that's had them, neighbours mentioned that there was one seen on the weekend but no-one noticed anything today.

I had the rear half of a cooper in my mum's back garden which i used for panels.

Once i was done and left with just the boot floor, arch tubs and a few other bits all still welded together, i was going to cut it up and take it down the tip.

My mum said to put it out the front and it would be gone before i knew it. I didn't believe her but a few hours later, a chap with a tipper knocked on the door and asked if he could take it.

I couldn't believe it, that sort of thing never happened when i used to live there.

Thing is, when you have 'obvious' scrap, they will ask you but when it's something that is obviously not scrap and they know you will tell them no, they will take it without asking.

Shame man, but like the others have said, you won't see them again i'm afraid.

Ben

I have flagged down the legit Romanians that come around with some scrap wheels and bits , but know they have a good slow drive past my place having a good nosey - i wish i had taken them to the tip now.

I had my pressure washer and all attachments stolen off my drive last week. The drive way is long and was well out of sight in front of a car. They would have had to walk down the drive to even know its there! Was fuming..

That's esactly what I mean, you've spent your hard earned cash on that and someone has just got it for free. Even though it was something minor it's just a major pain in the bum and an incovinience!

But if someone knows what car these are actually ment for they may know they will probably sell for more than scrap money.... So just keep an eye out on eBay, gumtree ect...

I doubt they would risk it to be honest.

Probably cut the tyres off and add them to the ali pile

I work in a scrappy and hear of this all the time.. Best just to get rid of it yourself! A typical mini alloy is not worth a lot these days probably around a fiver(without the tyre of course).

Beware of them dodgy scrap vans guys dont let them see what you inside your own garage/drive and never leave them metal scrap.

My old unit was not the safest but still a closed unit. I had two brand new customers doors nicked from INSIDE the garage.

Oh and i had a dog, these scums have no fear and would kill for a fiver

We put all our scrap outside...fridge, freezers, washing machines, sink, car batteries, sofas, anything will go normally on the same day within a few hours

Put it at the bottom of the drive and most of the time someone will knock the door even though its obviously scrap...cant complain really
