Any idea how much weight you've added by putting all that sound deadening etc.. in? I've always wondered how much weight you add when you do a job properly like you are... Looks good though, really neat install.

Around 80 sheets of the 2mm silent coat stuff which is about 24kg
Around 24 sheets of the 10mm closed cell foam which doesn't weight much
And 2 sheets of MLV weighing 4.5kg.
So about 30kg which is a lot to a mini but I'm not into the speed side of things (yet anyway lol) so hopefully it's as quiet a morgue.....well apart from my music playing.

That's looking sweet, I haven't been on in a while but it's really good to see such great workmanship and progress on your sound install.

Over the weekend with the weather being s#%%y I thought I would refurb my amps, they are both old school alpine amps a mrv340 and a mrv420 they originally came with the access flap aluminium and the heat sink Matt black. The colour of the mini (not yet tho) is going to be Toyota grey IE9 so I decided to paint the aluminium part the same colour so primed first then added the base coat and finally the top coat and also freshened up the Matt black too.Attached File  image.jpeg   52.51K   6 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   65.41K   4 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   67.77K   2 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   51.91K   0 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   52.62K   3 downloads

I'm still working on this just haven't done any big jobs just a few time consuming small ones. Added voltmeters to my alpine's to match the Alpine MRD501. Also been working more on the centre console building some savage switch panels.Attached File  image.jpeg   46.2K   2 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   49.38K   2 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   46.35K   3 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   52.81K   2 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   43.45K   0 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   39.28K   0 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   46.93K   0 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   50.07K   11 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   44.88K   6 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   50.96K   6 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   44.69K   7 downloads

Managed to get the front panel all glued together for the centre console, now all the components are just sat in place to get a rough look. Still need filling, sanding, routing, covering and I also still need to make the cut outs for the heater too.Attached File  image.jpeg   47.76K   17 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   47K   9 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   43.64K   16 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   48.37K   5 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   47.08K   24 downloads

It's been a few months since I've updated this thread, there has been a change with the back seat layout slightly. Also nearly finished the centre console to.Attached File  image.jpeg   46.93K   11 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   47.92K   10 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   45.74K   4 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   47.59K   3 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   44.89K   5 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   47.13K   2 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   52.72K   3 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   48.07K   6 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   48.37K   4 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   41.73K   1 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   45.28K   5 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   46.36K   0 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   39.06K   5 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   51.45K   1 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   46.62K   0 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   51.2K   8 downloads

Out of interest, do you know how much weight all the hardware will be adding, what with the MDF, fiberglass, amps, cabling, sub, dynamat etc?

I would say
soundeading 30kg
Amp rack 15kg
Sub box 10kg
Boot lining 5kg
Cables, fuse boxes etc etc 10kg
Extra battery? 10kg

Total: 80kg, so it's just like driving round with another me in the car.

Love this, can't wait to see some more. I'm just at the early stages of sound deadening my car. Don't want to add amps or a sub, and want to keep my back seats (for the dog!) but love what you're doing. Looks really professional.

That's the seat bench starting to take shape, the centre part won't look as odd when the console meets up to it. Then it time to move onto the front to back centre console (between the seats). Inbetween the seats shall go either a fire extinguisher or a Maglite 3cell torch.Attached File  image.jpeg   46.03K   8 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   43.9K   5 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   52.67K   7 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   51.29K   3 downloadsAttached File  image.jpeg   51.33K   3 downloads
