You may suffer from exhaust fumes getting in the cabin as they tend to eddy around in the wake of the car.

Hi, sorry for late reply. Wasn't planning on putting one in. I need to speak to MOT tester to see if it's road legal without one? I'm going for eardefenders instead!!!

I would be very very surprised if you didn't need one......I don't know of any production or kit car where there isn't some form of bulkhead/firewall (note the word fire) between the occupants and the engine, even an open car like an Ariel Atom has one, I don't mind being proven wrong if you can find an example.

I'm thinking you are probably right.  I'll call in the MOT centre this week with some pics.  Appreciate you help!

I am sure cptkirk is 100% correct,put one in the engine noise does reduce.
The one in my car is fibreglass and up to 50mph you and talk ( OK shout) after that it's a no go, dread to think what it would be like without a fire wall.
That's where the passenger just screams?
But it's good!

I would not risk it, as fire will burn you quicker than you could react to it

I have just rebuilt a new one, so have the Zcar alloy one spare .!

The fuel tank lift pump is from a p38 range rover and the connectors are a pain to get

If you find on in the scrap yard you have to cut out a section of the boot floor in order to get to the top of the tank

You can buy just the plug and pins to suit on ebay i got mine off steve from zcars

Where did you pipe the large pipe to coming out of pump unit do you have a photo

The largest pipe I have just connected to a breather.  I'll get you a picture later.  Not 100% sure its correct, I copied another build on this site!
