Done a search on the number plate and it came back as 1 previous owner !

  • Manufacturer: AUSTIN MORRIS
  • Model: MINI 1275 GT
  • Type: Standard Car
  • Colour: BLUE
  • Year: 1980
  • Reg. Date: 01/12/1980
  • Engine Size: 1275 cc

Now come on people if i sell the car as is what do you think shes worth & What is she worth as a restored car ?

If you restore it properly to the smallest detail then you would be unlikely to get a return on it.

But that's not what it's about really. It's about getting it sorted and enjoying it.

If you are hoping to make a fortune restoring it, then you may as well sell and make a small profit now

Got my mk1 project in full swing at the moment so it was never purchased to do up, I'm just a sucker for a cheap mini 😊 my thoughts were to cover it and keep it as is for a few years or as u say just sell it on.
My question is what to put it up for price wise as a bit clueless when it comes to the GT ?

Cheers

I would start a new thread with your own photos and get peoples opinions that way.

If you just title the thread 1980 1275GT then it will get peoples attention who maybe haven't seen this thread

I think the best way to restore that car would be to put it into a new heritage shell, especially as it appears to have rusted just about everywhere. Unfortunately, at the moment, you would struggle to restore it for less than it's restored value. Currently it is possible to get a £10,000 agreed value on a freshly restored late GT, but no more. I have a mate who has just completed a 1980 GT which is totally standard. It cost a bit over £10k to do but his insurers won't value it any higher.

If you are wanting to sell it for a quick profit stick it on Ebay, with a following wind you might get £1000 or more. Especially as this even rustier one sold for £800 a couple of weeks ago.
