No audio at all in my Mini and it's time to correct that... on a tight budget :) Looking at installing a pair of 5 1/4" coaxial in the dash, and a 10" sub in the boot but not sure what amp setup I should use.
NOTE: I'm not looking for anything particularly loud - just something I can hear over my 1380cc and drop gears.
Should I use a 4ch amp (2 ch for the front, and bridge the other 2 for the sub)?
Or should I go for two amps - one 2ch for the fronts, and a mono for the sub?
Oh and any recommendation for 'inexpensive' amps? My amp budget is £150 (£200 at an absolute push)
FYI the items I'll be fitting are:
- Pioneer MVH-X560BT mechless headunit
- Pioneer TS-W254R 10" sub (I'll be glassing up a sealed enclosure for it)
- Infinity PR5002is 5 1/4" coaxials (maybe not ideal and will upgrade to something better later... but don't really want bigger than 5 1/4" in the dash)
Cheers,
Colin.
I did briefly consider a 5ch amp... Soundstream Picasso Nano PN5.640D http://www.crutchfie...D.html?tp=35808... thoughts? I guess two channels would go unused... but the lack of RCA inputs kind of put me off (are those scrawny harness connectors as bad an idea as I suspect they are???).
