No, complete change of look. going for a more retro style. Colour wise along the lines of island blue or mk1 golf blue.

Got out to the garage today for a wile to do some seam welding.

Tubes welded in to link turrets and cross member

started to get the hang of it near the end, the last picture was the last weld, im happy with it. All the welds have fully penetrated the metal though i may grind the first few down and re-weld it just so all are as uniform as the last. Just need to make some gussets for the sides of the frame and make some mounts for the radiator.

Cheers

Got my top Engine steady plate cut, needs some tweaking. Not sure if il re-cut them or maybe just file them a bit.

Test fitted it today

I know its only an engine steady assembly, but imo it looks pretty trick. Just need to paint it and skin it in carbon and thats another small job finished.

Like where this is going.....very interested to see how the engine bay turns out as its something I am considering for mine.  Mini bays never look clean enough to my eyes.

Dropped the car of yesterday to get the cage, spent last week prepping it, removed the rear seat overhang and the door pockets, this has made the rear floor quite flimsy so ive opted to have some seat bars installed at the same time.

Car was back on 4 wheels for the first time in 14 months

Also bought a new dash

nice and light, not sure on what dials etc I will be running, 1 thing for sure is it will be very simplistic and possibly a digi dash.

car should be back end of the month so I can get stuck into straying the floor's and inside again.
