So guys im rolling my mini and i'm using CROWN LIQUID GLOSS has anyone used this before? Or any other crown product.

I thinned it down with mineral spirits at a ration of 15 to 100 what would be the right ration. When it hardens i get these tiny rought bubbles in the paint i don't know if its from wrong thinning or because it was only the first coat

Thanks in advance can't wait to get the mini on the road

I've seen it done with proper coach paint. I think you'll never get a decent finish with household gloss.

I've seen it used in the inside of arches but never on the external.

I've rolled on Rustolleum Combi Colour before, so probably similar method, although I'm guessing the paints themselves are different.

I found that I got air bubbles in the paint if I either pressed down to hard with the (high density foam) roller, or thinned it down too much.  To get rid of them I would put the paint on as normal, then go back over with a new, clean roller and burst the bubbles.  The key with this roller was to press very lightly - just the weight of the roller is enough for the second pass.

I did put on about 12 light coats, sanding down with 800 grit wet and dry every other coat - not a quick process!

Crown Liquid Gloss is an internal/external paint for wood and metal, but still more for'decoration' than being used for automotive finishing.

The rustoleum product mentioned above is known to give good results on cars, and any good coach enamel should too.

Ok cheers anyone know what the thinning amount with mineral spirits is for rustoleoum combi colour to spray it from HVLP. Im opting for spraying because the mini needs to be ready for hill climb in malta and between work and other stuff time is a factor.

This probably won't be of any help but I once painted an old van I had with Dulux Liquid Gloss, unthinned and straight from the tin and applied using a foam roller. It was on a really hot day and the finish was really good but for any cars I have painted I have always sprayed them using 2k, cellulose or, on vintage tractors, enamel. I have heard good reports about Rustoleum but I have never used it.

Don't need a hvlp, you can use any old gun, might be easier with your compressor

Try here - you'll get some good ideas  http://rolledon.forummotion.com/

Most of it is US-based so some of the terminology might be a little different.
