When you assume you make an ass out of you and me. You will need a 12 volt coil if your are ballasted which is quite likely. Can't help on the wire particularly aslong as it's automotive grade and of reasonable amps it should be fine.I have fitted an Aldon Ignitor to my 89' 998cc Mini Thirty. I keep getting an intermittent misfire. I have currently got the positive connected to the coil...so this thread has put me in hopefully the right direction. Can anyone post up a good close-up photo of where the feed wire connects to on the fuse box & where do I get the right type of wire & what is the right type of wire??? Also, I assume that I leave my ballasted coil as is, no need to change to non-ballasted or no need to disconnect any existing wire.
So I reread this you should be able to keep your coil ballasted and run the ignition off of 12v if that makes sense. Post night shift
