Hello
I've been reding the first page only..i dont usually post anymore on here or the internet anyway i have a few things to say
I remember when i was pointing out cheap bearings were of a wrong material and wrong tolerancies, thats why you have to stick with timken skf etc, but the rubber parts were wrong rubber and wrong size etc thigns have improved a little but not too much, they're simply cheap.
I get stuff from different suppliers, trying to get the best from one and another.
Now the MAJOR ISSUE is the time you spend, the amount of works delayed, etc
Goodridge hoses..they are meant to be different, they're sided. That said i was supplied some wrong ones few years ago (wrong thread iirc), from what i suppose to be the same supplier you got them from.
Balljoints...the so called genuine kits are just...dont know but i dont remember any genuine unipart-mowog-rover parts to have the groove machined for grease, though cross reference parts had some sort of it.. Anyway i dont get why out of 4 joints 3 have these grooves and 1 not. And lets not debate on the quality of the machining.
FAM3869 cones..million manifacturers..million suppliers.. recently a major supplier is selling them with rubber all over the nut so compressor thread wont engage.. Dont you love spent time cutting through with a knife all the cones you have to fit in a workshop?
New sump plugs, yes they have a magnet! It will fall apart as soon as you get them out the bag. Cant comment on thread cutting quality.
Subframe mountings..there are a few nearly decent out there, others are just useless *******, spend your time trying and testing all what the sell from different suppliers.
Steering Racks.. the balljoints on them are too tight..apart from that they seem to work okish
SU parts..viton tipped jets that sticks as long as a car is on storage for about a month or two. Springs that falls in pieces as long as you exted them to fit. Lovely.
Now one of my favourites. Hilos. Ok to wind up the nuts to package them (wondering why this was not a necessity until one or two years ago).
Now on some variety of hilos the nuts are locked FT so you have to put ANY hilo on a vice and unlock them. Dont you just love it?
Rant over, i'll go back to wrok and cover myself in grease by replacing some cracked rubber gaiters.
