Speedy cables will make you something to exact spec you require - http://www.speedycables.com/
though it sounds a bit odd you're having problems, is it this one?

If its a standard car, you dont need a bespoke one, tried Minispares?

Try this one first, MiniSpares
Speedycables will be a bit more than a tenner I reckon
Also, I tend to pull out the inner and apply lithium grease to it, seems to make the throttle action smoother

I had this problem about 8 years ago. My wife snapped the cable going up a hill in Cornwall (luckily we had just bought fish 'n chips so we ate that, feeding some to our 1yo at the time, whilst we waited for the AA)
Anyway, the AA man bodged a fix for us and I bought a new cable when we got home. the bloody thing didn't fit! (can't remember why) so I just left the AA mans fix and it's been fine ever since!

Yep, one of the suppliers was Minispares, l think they get them made by the same company because it is exactly the same as the second one and is NOT the same length/thread position as the OE. Not bothered about price, needs to be correct hence 'speedy cables

I did the same 15 years ago, even got the reinforced stainless ones.
My brother preferred to go original.
Result: he changed it twice, I stil have it fitted!
Stil have the second brake cable... 😂

When did you buy it?

I don't think the current ones are as good.
I think the original ones used to have a lining that reduced friction and they lasted longer.
I think the Speedy Cables option is probably the best unless you could get an original NOS one.
You will have to pay more though but if it works better and lasts longer.
