Do any of you have any experience with these cars?
Would you recommend owning one?
Are there any other similar cars that you'd recommend owning?
Cheers in advance,
Will

I had a Jaguar S-Type R, 400BHP and a real sleeper! They are dirt cheap these days.

been using my Suzuki Swift Sport as a daily since 2008. very like a Mini in handling but has AC and heated seats **** MPG and not a motorway car but has done a few 1000 mile trips in one go.

Hi,
I've always had an enjoyable car for a daily driver, including an Alpina B10 V8 touring (350bhp)
But if I did it again I'd buy a cheap common car that's easy to repair and reliable...
Cheers

Don’t bother if it’s your daily driver.
I’ve spent years tinkering with my daily drivers until I started buying new ~10 years ago. The last car I had was a Fiat 500 Abarth. Fun car, quite fast, handled well etc..
Waste of time.
Never really got a chance to use it properly, bit noisy on the daily commute and got dinged twice by idiots.
If you’ll excuse the pun - it drove home the point that money spent on an ‘exciting’ daily driver is a complete waste. Traffic’s getting worse, standard of driving seems to be plummeting, and if those two aren’t enough the roads themselves are falling to pieces.
All I now want out of my daily is a bit of comfort, low cost and little emotional attachment - it’s a tool to do a job. The money this saves can then be spent on the classics or motorbikes.
I agree.
My previous daily drivers have always been fairly quick and modified for performance. The last car was a remapped Saab 9-3 Turbo X, which was really nice to drive
But it's a waste of time now, as mentioned by Icey, the traffic and standard of driving is ridiculous nowadays. I couldn't use all 310bhp on the road due to the traffic getting in the way.
Now I have a Skoda Octavia vRS diesel estate. Not sluggish by any means but, comfy, roomy and far less running costs.
Money gets ploughed into the Mini!! Haha!

I've got a 2015 Bini Cooper S and a 2014 S3. While the S3 is blisteringly quick, is fully loaded and handles amazingly, I always take the Cooper S. Its so much fun and just feels like the better car out of the 2. Sure that will change when I get a remap on the S3
