I’m sure by now most of us on the forum have heard of Ben and Mill Road Garage on the isle of Wight. After being mugged off by many rogue trading mini body shops in the past it was refreshing to watch Ben at work, his eye for detail and wanting to do a good job are what persuaded us to take a leap and take the wife’s 40 LE to Mill Road last year. Ben replaced both doors and we were so impressed we Booked it back in for more work. After 6 long weeks today was collection day, I m sure most would be put off having to travel to the Isle of Wight , as we found out it wasn’t a hassle at all, leaving Oxford at 07.30 we arrived at the wight link ferry terminal by 09.00.

After a 30 minute Ferry ride we arrived at Yarmouth, The guys at Mill Road were good enough to pick us up for the 10 Journey to the garage.
After collecting the car we spent the rest of the day cruising around the island in the freshly restored mini.

The Cowes chain ferry is certainly unique.....

So to sum up, if you need some bodywork doing to your mini give Mill Road some concideration, quality work every time and a bonus day out on the island to boot....

I totally agree with the above, I would not have any other garage carry out bodywork on my mini, Bens repair skills plus his attention to detail ensure that a  high quality finish is always acheived.

Second that. Ben did a great job on both the mini and MG midget both of which are on the forum

What work did he do the second time around? The car looks perfect.

Hi.

I replaced the bonnet, repaired the o/s inner sill and fitted a new outer sill, replaced the scuttle and top dash rail, re-painted all 4 arches, repainted the front end repaired the roof gutters and painted the roof.

I think that was it...

+1 for the Ben fan club.  My S went there last October.  Loved blasting around the bottom road from Ventor to The Needles before dropping it off with Ben.  :D

Ben is going to have a lot of magazine feature cars if they keep coming out of Mill Road to this standard.
This one has caught the eye of Karen Drury (Miniworld Mag ed) who are doing a full feature later this year.
