Hello,

I am building up a 1275 with a A series block but have a new A+ dizzy.  Can someone confirm what parts I need to marry the two together?  I have an A+ drive and an A series dizzy mount but the A series clamp will not fit on the A+ locking collar. So do I need to keep the A series dizzy mount but use the A+ locking fork?  Are the lengths of the A+ dizzy and A+ drive compatible with an A series mount?

Thanks,

Paul

the drives on the end are thicker on the A+ so at the least you'll need to either change the drive in the block or the drive peg on the shaft. after that theres the issue of the clamp, im not sure if the fork that hold the A+ fits into the hole that holds the A distributor, or if you left that out if the hole would be too large IYSWIM

Thanks.  I think I've answered my own question.  The A+ Drive and dizzy are too short to connect, when using the A series mount.  The hole in the block is too big in an A series to fit the A+ drive.  Guess I need a new Dizzy :ohno:

I had the same issue and looked into it, you can change over the drive at the base of the dizzy but its a bit of a faff, also you need to modify an A+ clamping bracket as they are different. I'm going to get one of these instead!

I've done this by swapping the Drive Dog on the distributors, and otherwise using all the A+ parts for fitting, however, this only works with the 45D4 and later Distributors. The 23 and 25 types are 'too bulky' where the fork needs to go in.

On the sleeve / collar that fits in the block, a tab needs to be welded on and a thread tapped in to that to mount the fork to. There are some photos on the forum of this.
