So yesterday I took the plunge and bought my first Mini Cooper ‘93.
On the drive home as it got dark i realised a couple of things that I hadn’t on the test drive, mainly electrical.
1- the instrument cluster lights are almost non existent. When the ignition is on and the side lights are on the dials are working but very dim, when the engine is fired up they appear to be out.
2 - PS indicator flashes a lot quicker than the right.
Any help or thoughts on what’s causing these issues would great.
Thanks

I'd remove every connection, clean the contacts and replace. Smear a little vaseline over the top after. Do all earth points, the battery terminals, the fuse box and the starter motor solenoid where all the brown wires meet.

Sounds like bad earths. Are all the indicator bulbs lit? As said clean and refit earths and check the bulb holders at the front are firmly attached and fitted.
