I recently aquired a Crypton (?) Check Mate with Rover Microcheck system from a garage closing down which seems to plug ECU in a similar way to a Sykes Pickavant ACR system.
I've not used it yet but unlike my ACR2 it comes with a pretty detailed manual for use. It would appear to offer pretty much the same diagnostics as the ACR but it's first time I've seen an Air By-Pass Screw mentioned, let alone using it to setup the stepper motor.
I'm intrigued to know if any folks out there have knowledge of the Microcheck system and/or anything about adjusting the Air By-Pass screw? I didn't know it existed.
I have a spare throttle body so I've taken the lose core plug out that protects it and its definitely there (photo)! I would think it nigh on impossible to remove the core plug and adjust it in situ though, not a lot of space between the back of the throttle body and the bulkhead so I'm a tad doubtful but seeing it all in black & white seems to make it real.
I've included a few photos of the manual that mention the screw and the Check Mate kit.
Anyone know anything?
