my mini died this week :)
i was run into on a country lane and my car was written off :)
insurance people say itll cost £1100 to fix and have written it off!
somebody is gonna pick my mojo up at some auction or other and repair him- i am so mad :)
so if anyone knows of any decent minis available in the midlands let me know.

Things just get worse :) :)

the have now valued my "write off" and kindly informed me that they value it at £500!

so much for comprehensive insurance eh?
i have written them a stern letter and sent advertisements for cars in a similar condiition form the same era and the average value of these advertisement cars is over £1900.

has anyone had a similar experience- do you think they will make me an improved offer?

I think it would be wise for you to start collecting a few ads for cars for sale that were in a comparable condtion to yours before the accident. Good luck.

minis are now worth so much more than the list price - try telling them it's a classic car & that their estimate doesn't take account of that - in fact try anything & everything you can!

I was lucky when I had an accident in my last one, they estimated the repairs would cost as much as they thought it was worth & gave me a choice (no choice there then)

Hi campfreddie, insurance companies dont get me started,at least willy Turpin wore a mask. They will bid low first time, dont take it !! Refuse the offer politely explaining the condition of the car etc.I have known where it has taken 3 or 4 refusals to get some where near what the car is worth. It take,s time but hang in there mate,Freda is right and its good advice ,just dont give up!! :)

PS Have you had a word with Mr Bridger?? :)

You need to have the car delivered back to you and then tell the insurance company you want to retain the salvage and get the car repaired from the money they pay you out, if you shop around and you play your cards right you could get the mini repaired and have some money left .
