Hi Guy's

I started putting a new head on my Moke then ended up giving the whole body a lick of paint so now the seats are looking tired.

I was looking at those cobra ones mini spares sell because I want to diss the standard high buckets in my 1981 Moke.  I like the old school low seats and they look pretty good and comfy.  Will these fit a Mini moke?

I was looking at these seat brackets

will these fit the cobra seats to a Mini Moke?

Thanks

Brad

I have seen them fitted in a Moke, but I think they modified the body to get them in.

The only Cobra I know of that fits a Moke is the Sports Car Recliner - but be warned - having had a set, they are VERY uncomfortable, but in any case. not a Low Back like you're looking for. I don't know of any other low backs (other than Moke ones) that fit.

Look around for some 1968 - 1970 Moke Seat Frames, they have no head rest, and have them padded (properly) and trimmed. A few guys in the Club had these and they were awesome, great seat that looked sensational and very comfortable.

Thanks Spider, yep I'm old school and I love the old low saddle bag type seats.

Why the hell they change things that work has always amazed me?

Thanks Brad

Fair enough if that's what you'd like - it is your Moke after all !

They fitted the high back seats because that's the way the market was pushed - for passenger cars - by ADR 22, however as the Moke in 2 seat form, is a Commercial Vehicle, ADR 22 doesn't apply. It's also likely they fitted the Head Rests so that when Rear Seats were ordered, it was one thing less to change.

I don't mind my Highbacks - they are extremely comfortable (the most comfortable seat I have anywhere in fact !) and it has the speakers for the music box in the headrests.

You've convinced me Spider to keep my original 1981 high back seats.  They have the lever so you can forward tilt them which is handy and they are on original sliders.

The top half is in perfect condition with the original piping.  I just need to get the bottom cushions redone fully because my Dad who is a pretty good jack of all trades / upholster who made my torneau cover as well had no  webbing straps so used a piece  of ply, so their is none of that sinking feeling you should get in a seat.

Are these the seats you recommend that can be comfy if done right.
