Newbie with his first thread.  Currently making a mid engined 20VTurbo Mini, it need a fair bit of work so I decided to mid engine it as I always wanted a turbo Mid engined Mini.  Hope everyone approves.

What drive shafts/ rear brakes you planning?

Going to be running shortened VW shafts, VW MK 5 gen 3 rear wheel bearings with VW MK4 rear discs and calipers. All have been redrilled to accept the 4 x 101.6 pcd.

What mounts to the heel board are you going to use?

The mounts are VW type ones used in the Mk5 platform front wishbones. 12mm bolt through the centre and fit into a 38mm tube welded onto the swing arm.  Have used the rubber standard type for the mean time, if they are too flexible they will be changed to polyurethane.

Small update.

 

New discs for the front brakes.

Fuel cell tested and all fittings mounted up, fitted a 275LPH pump.

Finally started on repairing the doors.

Removed and stripped out.

Interesting build and should make for a quick mini. Just an observation, now that you have changed the scuttle, trial fit the windscreen before you get the car painted. The right hand corner looks slightly off although that could be from the angle of the picture.

Better to do now rather than messing with new paint.

Thanks sonikk4 for the advice and the positive comments, I was worried that the screen might not fit after the scuttle work.  Thankfully I have trial fitted it in and all fits and lines up ok so hopefully crisis averted.
