The fact that you got it in without cutting the inner wings is a really game changer.  ;D especially as mine is a clubman.

I was considering doing this conversion now im even more tempted.

Great work  :mrcool:

The whole aim of my MSC work which started this project was to design a kit that required 0 body modifications.

The frame you see above is not exactly body modification free as you do have to pull the bottom of the inner wings out but there is no cutting or welding.

Does this engine use the OEM ECU to run the fuel injection or will you have to use an aftermarket unit, and is it OBD1 or OBD2?

Did the donor car have 13's, will the diff and trans ratios be OK for the Mini wheels you'll be using?

The donor car came on some god awful 15" aftermarket alloys that rubbed (which are now on my civic) so not sure about the gearing. Micras are usually 13" or 14" wheels.

I plan to use the stock ecu and I believe its OBD1 as it uses a distributor instead of coil pack. The inlet will need modifying to fit but the injectors and their position in the manifold won't change so the stock ECU should work well enough.

I've managed to recover the pictures and footage from my other phone.

Here are the couple I took of the sub frame separated from the jig and out of the car. There are two bars that go from the bottom edge of the strut towers to the front bar. I intend to do this with the frame and engine in the car to ensure they clear everything.

The rear engine mount and upper cross bar still need welding and the exhaust hanger moving.

It all looks very good but are you sure the frame is strong enough without bracing the front back to the top of the towers ? I know this might require slight mods to the inner wings but the original frame had alot bigger bottom bars, not trying to piss on your work just concerned :)

There are a set of bars that will go from the strut towers to the front bar that will follow the bottom edge of the inner wings.

For your front cross member to rear turret bracing bars maybe get hold of a pipe bender and form them.

When I did the frame for the G13B I used a couple of big lumps of unequal box as that was the trend at the time ... a little later people started to use round tube and a pipe bender and it looks so much better.

It also allows you to loop them over bits and bobs, you can probably run them from the top of the towers to the front of the frame ..it will give you a bit more space maybe?

I have been working on this but have been lazy and not updated this build thread.

I started filming everything and uploading it to YouTube. Here are the episodes I have done so far. Apologies for the sound quality. A better camera with decent mic is on my wish list and will be purchased when funds allow.

I am a bit further ahead compared to the episodes and more will be uploaded soon.

Exhaust finished and some other parts fitted that I had lying around ready for it. The exhaust will be cleaned and painted before final fit up.

I picked up on where I left off last time by continuing with the cooling system. Some of the parts that I posted pictures of before make an appearance.

Sneak peak from a future episode
