Hi folks, does anyone know what this is? It’s probably some sort of exhaust mount, but I don’t know where it goes.

It came with a stage 1 kit I just bought.

Bobbins screw onto subframe and the curved bit hooks into an exhaust clamp around the tailpipe.Steve..

Thanks a lot.

I was confused but I think I’ve got it now. They use a jubilee clip instead of a u bolt...

Jubilee clip is not sufficiently strong. Use a U-Clamp.

To be fair, I've used a Jubilee clip for years and it has never failed.

Yeah and last night when I fitted it, it’s almost cosmetic as it doesn’t bear much weight

One more question... as you can see in the attached, the new exhaust sits very close to the fuel line. Is this normal? Is there a risk that the exhaust will melt the fuel line? Or does your exhausts sit that close to the fuel line?

Maniflow said it wasn’t a problem...

Is that the battery cable?and the brake pipe?I thought the fuel pipe was on the passenger side. The pipe from the mechanical pump to the carb is close to the exhaust but I have had no problems. If that is the battery cable I would look to securing it out of the was as bad things can happen if it touches.Good therapeutic fettling time required.Steve..

Yes, that's the battery cable and it needs to be secured well away from the hot exhaust.

If the insulation melts and the cable grounds it's self to the body there will be lots of fun.

Ok thanks, yes I checked and it is the battery. Silly me.

I will try and secure away.

There should not be any brake or fuel lines, or battery cables near the exhaust.
