Evening, just after some opinions on the following kit and any other items recommended while in there. Being fitted along with hilos, Gaz shocks and new donuts and knuckles. Any particular bolts that need changing or acquiring ahead of broken time. Rear subframe has been renewed very recently with mostly new parts, front hasn’t been apart for a while. For reference this is on. 92 Cooper, running 13x7 and will be running low.

Many thanks a head, need to get the project up now really me thinks.

Is the front subframe solid mounted ?

Whilst you've got the suspension apart I'd strip and inspect the top arms and overhaul if necessary

I'm generally a MiniSpares parts fan, but in this case I prefer the MiniSport parts, especially the lower control arms..... I find them easier to adjust and more accurate - and really heavy duty and well made.

I agree with KTS, plan to rebuild the upper arms, and if you haven't changed them in a while it might be time for new cones.

Old as in '92 old ? Might want to check their condition and replace if necessary. Avoid poly mounts and stick with either the rubber mounts all round, or solid mounts all round, but not a mix of the two

Sounds like a good setup. Don't fit poly mounts, either all rubber or even better all solid mounts (I advise you reinforce the toe board areas)

Id also suggest going for Protech dampers or simple kyb Gas adjust.

My set up is totally standard with kyb Gas Adjust shocks all round, a simple alignment using the penny washer trick on the rear radius arm brackets (or fit the Minispares heavy duty camber/toe brackets).

Can I add here that I do recommend getting the corner weights adjusted to suit and a full alignment by a mini specialist.

Even standard, once set correctly you can overtake subaru imprezas or audi RS6 in the twisties..... Been there done that ? even in a bog standard 998.
