Does This Mean Tie Bar Rod?

**Offside Front Suspension rod damaged but not seriously weakened slightly bent. (5.3.3 (b) (i))**

I would more than likely say it is the tie bar - steering - suspension, most are on a Mini
They are just very flimsy. Don't panic about it, but if you are going to keep your car, then fit the stronger ones, these are pretty bullet proof.
Replace the rubber bushes too which sit against the subframe on either side of the rod

That's fair enough -
You would be able to see the bend in it yourself too. You could replace just the one with a standard rod and 2 new bushes if you wanted to
Entirely your choice, but do have a look yourself before you go ordering.
The bushes are part number 31G1155 and the bar is 8G4249. Depending on who you buy the single rod from, they may sell it with a new bolt for attachment
and 2 new bushes plus new nut - complete in other words
Heavy duty tie bars are 21A1091

I always find MOT failures are full of words but are also delightfully vague.I would leave it myself as the tester is happy with it,Just me and I am a bit of a bodger.Steve..
