The parcel shelves will need sorting as I want them to extend to the upright so I can secure them. The shelf on the drivers side is 5mm short while the one on the passenger side is 3mm short. The shelves are no longer available and mine are a bit rough. I currently have a company who make replacement panels for all sorts of old cars trying to make me two new shelves.

As they were all built, they all had a gap here, that was so that regardless of body build tolerances, the Trays would fit. To make up the difference here, there's a screw that went through from the Side Screen Steady Bar, through the Body and then picked up the Tray, in that gap, they fitted washers ' PWZ104 ' with a quantity being described as ' A/R ' (As Required). PWZ is a Plain Zinc Plated Flat Washer and the 104 is a Standard 1/4" size.

All the same, I agree with your thinking here Martin, the gap is ugly and packing them out with Washers, while it maybe 'factory' it looks like a Chewing-gum 'fix'. I make my trays to fit too.

New parcel shelves made by Brendan at Tyrrell Coachworks in Wexford. I’m very pleased with the results.

The new trays have come up a treat ! They actually look right. It's all attention to detail for sure.

I like and appreciate the way this has been done

No doubt you noticed on the standard trays that part is just literally twisted, not even pressed. It's like an after thought.

Coming on great :shades:

Chris they look good and I’m very pleased with them. You were right about the top fixing on the side covers, too far up below the parcel shelf. I will have to rethink the fixing.

So I managed to get some work done over the holidays. All the front bits drilled and fitted. The new parcel shelves have worked out perfect. I’m not happy with the pedal box so I will be replacing that in the new year. The steering wheel is a bit bigger than I imagined and certainly bigger than the wheel the Moke originally came with.

Yes, them stock Steering Wheels,,,,,,,,, one from a Denis Bus is smaller !

What is it with the Pedal Box you're not happy with Martin ?

The Trays and Dash look great, though, not original looking as they actually fit :D

Chris, it is a bit big but it’s staying. The pedal box I have is a bit battered, doesn’t really fit in with my overall plans so it will have to be replaced. I’m very pleased with the shelves.

All very nice and clean !

That's part of the project I quite enjoy, the 'hump' of body and paint is in the rear view mirror, not my most favorite part, but when it comes to the nuts and bolts,,,, I know your body is done, but you still have the paint to come.

What Hilo's are they ? They seem to have a decent strut with them.

Looking forward to getting it all built up.  The Hilo’s were supplied by Somerford Mini.

So I wanted metal side screens to provide better support for my wind screen but my Moke has brackets for Perspex screens. I’m getting cold feet about having to cut out the brackets to allow the metal frames to fit.

Martin, it's only a choice you can make mate.

Personally, I wouldn't think twice about it, it would be out with the spot weld drill bit as soon as it landed in the shed, but then again, I know you are (or were ?) aiming for a fairly original end job.

I have seen a few Windscreens over the years fold down and not all were rusty either !

I also feel it finishes off that part of the car in a nicer way, but then, that's my distorted view.
