Hi all, just joined the forum as I'm planning to buy and restore a classic mini. I have recently moved to a new house with garage and I think it's just the perfect time to start!

I have been always passionate about cars and particularly about classic cars. I'm not an expert mechanic so I will be asking a lot of questions, so apologies for that ;))

Hi all,

I'm now the proud owner of a 1976 Mini 1000 LE (Stripey).  Once I understand how to upload pictures into the forum, I will put some photos...

It shouldn't be that difficult, but I don't know how to do it!  :shy:

Hi and welcome, use Imgur. Load your pictures to that, select the pictures you want and another screen appears with a list of selections on the right hand side. Second up from the bottom you will  see BBCode for message boards and forums, click on that then copy. You can now post it on here.

It's good to see that KDL***P is going to be put back on the road      (i won't publish the full number without your permission).

Did it live in Watford when you bought it?

I bought it from a guy in the Isle of Wight. He told me that he got it from an old lady that passed away (not sure if the lady used to live in Watford).

So, what do you know about this car? I didn't get any service history and not much information from the previous owner...

Thanks.

I merely know what the registration is.... that's because for the last three weeks i've been living on top of your wardrobe :ohno:

PM sent.

-There's an Area identifier on every number plate. DL means it was first registered on the Isle of Wright so it's not the one i heard about in Watford.

Thanks. That is aligned with what I heard from the guy who sold me the car. First registered in the Isle of Wight by this old lady, who was the first owner.

Hi Viktor, what’s your plans for the stripey once restored? I’ve been looking for one for a while.

Good luck with the restoration!

Best

Michael
