My son and I both have mini's a 1971 and a 1965.  We have been successfully driving them for about a year or so.  My sons car is his first road car as he is new to driving too.  He wanted a classic mini from around the age of 10.  We like the chat and information in the forum and have a few small projects underway to enhance and improve our cars.  We look forward to hearing from the members on their experiences and projects.

Our first project is a poorly 1971....running on 3 cyl. We've just done a compression test and got Left to Right Cylinder 4 = 80psi/5.5kg/cm Cylinder 3 = 70psi/4.9kg/cm Cylinder 2 = 0/0 and Cylinder 1 = 90psi/6.2kg/cm

So I think we need the head off to see if its top end (We hope it is) or more serious as a rebuild.....we would welcome any insights on compression as these seem all over the place (Apart from 2 that is broken)

Many thanks

Sounds like you've got your hands full! These cars are a bloody pain at timea but once out on the road seem to forget the issues it's caused 😂

I'm also Kent. Just outside Ashford 👋
