Hi all,

I just joined the forum today so please forgive me if I've posted this in the wrong place! Does anyone know what size door roundel normally suits their minis? I've just bought a '66 MK1 that I'm converting into a rally car so any help/pictures of your own door roundels so I can make up my mind would be massively appreciated!!

Best,

Matt

For a genuine historic rally car, the best thing is to paint squares onto the doors.

The plan is to build something similar to this... (too many red rally Minis out there  :D ) - this door roundel size looks perfect, although no idea how big they are!

It's the height of a door skin minus a couple of inches

There is no mandated size. It has to be white under motorsport rules, but so long as the regulation size black numbers will fit I don't think the background size is specified.

You are welcome.

Which type of rallies will you be entering with it? Obviously it qualifies as a Historic and you have the choice of road/regularity events or full-on special stage events.

If you need help with rallying specifications there is a lot of help available on here in respect of things like running the lins inside the car, sump guards, lighting, seats & belts, etc.

Being 18, mainly hill climbs (Firle, Crystal Palace), Mini run and other events for the next year or so. After a few years of driving experience with it, taking it abroad to do other (mainly road regularity events e.g. Journeés D'Automne, The ICE), and possibly Tour Auto, Monte Carlo historic etc.

Thanks for offering to help out! As you can imagine I have still got a lot of things to learn. Car is currently in the workshop awaiting S-cut gears, rally dash, bucket seats, cage etc, however your knowledge would be greatly appreciated!
