Why can't I find any 1275 standard bore pistons with a 6.5cc (or similar) offset dish? Everything is oversize. I want  a decent cast piston but can't find any?

It seems crazy that I may have to go +20 after lining the block back to standard. I don't need forged pistons, but the extra cost of them would be slightly offset by the reduction in machining costs, so not out of the question.

Is a reasonable quality standard size piston too much to ask?

Bullmotif had some listed. Is this what you are after?

Minispares have some: http://www.minispare...px|Back to shop

And there's another with low compression ratio as well...

Or is it different?

Why offset dish?  That might be the hardest thing.

Otherwise std pistons should be relatively easy to find, as above.

I’d seen the ones linked to, I was hoping for something a bit better, Omega (as mentioned) would be preferable, Swift, Med etc all list decent pistons but they’re all over size.

Why do I want the offset dish? I need the dish, and if I’m going to have it I want it offset. Simple as that.

Why don't you go direct to Omega with your requirements and see what they can do for you???

Very difficult to find adms the vast majority over bore the engine. Before contemplating linering you must check availability of pistons.

Sonikk, I tried Omega direct, not heard from them yet.

AC, that’s what I’m doing  ;D But it’s looking like I’ll have to go 1293.

Maybe give the likes of Swiftune a call. While they may not list them, they may have some or being a stockist, they would likely get a quicker response from Omega. I think what your after isn't that unusual or odd.

I know, I didn't even see it as a problem when I was chatting about it with the guy who's doing the block.  I'll see what Swifty says.

Update: MED don’t stock std size and are only interested if they can shift 25 sets.

What’s the advantage of the offset dish?

What’s the advantage of the offset dish?

It’s said to increase power over a central dish. I’m not going to get into an argument about it though as it’s a bit of a can of worms for some people. You may think it’s worthwhile if you were fortunate enough to see what’s been done to Miglia engines over the years.

Do you know why? Not something I’ve ever seen on other engines, can only imagine the piston isn’t 100% centered under the sparkplug in stock engines? Always happy to learn
