Good evening

A few months ago I bought a HIF44, turns out its from an old Volvo.

At the time I didn't really think about it and planned to rebuilt it, however. i then offered it up to a nice new inlet manifold and abutment plate and realised the choke and throttle levers are on the wrong side and potentially move the wrong way.

Any ideas how I could rectify this issue without buying another HIF44 carb?

I was thinking that maybe I could take the levers from my HS4 (if they fit)  and change the side of the choke and throttle cable clips on the abutment plate , and hoping that could work out.

If anyone know how to jump this hurdle ill be much appreciated, or else ill go shopping for another carb.

thanks,

Mike

Do you have a picture of the carb?

For the throttle you probaly need this part numbers:

LZX1739
AUZX1047
JZX1019

And for the choke:

JZX1609

Ofcourse creating something from bits you already have is cheaper.

And just to add: I changed a Rover HIF44 to mini spec sometime ago, all the bits where a bit expensive, and you need to change the spring, damper and needle to. Buying a carb that is already suited for a mini is probaly cheaper.

Thanks for the replies, I've found a few places selling the parts but as you say, very expensive I could buy a second hand carb instead.

A couple pictures below of the Volvo carb.
