Hi guys,

I just got myself a new Mountney steering wheel and boss kit. I was wondering if you could help me with the assembly, the instructions are not very clear.

This is the first option (which I think is the correct one) but the problem here is that the horn push button is recessed, I would expect it to sit higher.

The second option without the finishing rim let the bolts be too apparent.

What do you guys think ?

Thanks.

if you don't like the horn button being recessed when the finishing ring is fitted, you could try and fit a spacer below the horn button to bring it up level with the finishing rim

if you choose not to use the finishing ring; you could use a fastener that has a much lower profile on the head like Hi-Lok bolts to attach the steering wheel to the boss

alternatively, you could countersink the holes in the steering wheel, so the screws sit flush, and not fit the finishing ring

Yeah. Mine is like image 2.

Image 1 has the countersinks so again is correct.

Think its your preference really.

As KTS says you couls space the horn button.

So for you both ways are correct ?

Photo 2 looks best but the Phillips screw heads are to big so, have a look at these on eBay item no 233377779833 they are stainless steel with a low profile and have an Allen key head I used them on my mountney when I had one and they looked fine. The lip is not really noticeable when it's fitted and used.

Wthout the ring looks much better, you don't need the ring at all.
