Chaps,
Took the car for MOT last week and it failed on movement between lower arms and tie rod clevis.
Currently the car is running adjustable lower arms with rod ends inboard.
These rods ends obviously allow an extra degree of freedom over the bushed version, the arm being free to rotate round it's own axis (rod end inboard/ball joint outboard).
The only thing restricting this rotation is the clevis of the tie rod. Given the clevis isn't very deep/long and uses a single clearance fit bolt, there will always be some movement.
It's this movement the tester is objecting too.
Has anyone else encountered this issue? Should I simply fit a set of bushed arms for the test?
Many thanks.
